"The Dude abides"

Today is a day I feel like rambling on about non-sensical thoughts that cross my mind as I type. Maybe it's just because I have about a week left of the patrol and it feels like my brain is bouncing around in my head like a BB. Maybe it's because I feel like I've been living out of a suitcase and unable settle in anywhere since April. To top it off, after returning to Hawaii, I'm back on the road again. I'll be heading to Seattle for a week for some more training. It's a good thing I love to travel, otherwise this job would've driven me insane years ago. It will be nice to return to my old home for a couple of days. I'll be able to see some familiar sites and sounds and pick up some of my belongings that are still residing there. It will probably be the most "home" like feeling I've experienced in 6 months, despite the fact I'll still be in a hotel roaming around in a rental car. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining though, it's just an expression of the disorientation I've been feeling for a while. I've covered more of the globe, seen more cultures, and had more experiences in the past couple months than I have in many years. The distance I've traveled since April easily could have circumnavigated the globe.

Many projects and aspirations have had to take a backseat for a while now, but when I return from Seattle I plan to dive into my web development plans with a new fervor. I've planned for new upgrades to my computers, new hardware to assist in graphic editing, new software to expand possibilities, and possibly(it's a long shot) take some classes at HPU(Hawaiian Pacific University). I'm not really looking to take on new clients for a while since I'm going to be completely revamping another website, but I can at least add a few new tools to my arsenal and upgrade existing projects until I'm ready to begin new sites.

A little bad news. I'm sorry Tom, but I'm afraid my photos are going to have to wait until I get back to Hawaii. The two photos I posted in earlier updates took at least 30 minutes to complete so the photo updates I'm planning to do would probably take me a few days to complete with this slow underway internet connection. But the photos will come!

"Don't cry for me because I'm already dead"

That's a quote by the way, I'm not some manic depressive sad clown. I simply haven't posted in a while and started receiving e-mails asking what was up. As many of you know, I'm a procrastinator of the worst degree. So, since the patrol is nearing an end, it is crunch time for me and I have been spending my time completing all my qualifications prior to returning to home port. I always work best under pressure, but this little scheme will only work best if I manage to pass all my tests on the first try(so far so good!).

This second half has been rather uneventful, and hasn't yielded anything worth photographing or journaling. Even though I haven't actually posted many pictures anyway. I won't really be able to post pictures appropriately until I return to home port because of the limitations on the connection onboard. Each of those photos in the past posts took around 20 minutes to complete, and that was only one picture each. So, I'm just going to have to wait.

The most notable thing that the majority of people are feeling onboard right now is straight up contempt for everyone else here. The tension, drama, and stress have reached maximum density and we are all very impatient to return home. I'm ready to get back, but I also need this time to complete my tasks(way to wait to the last minute!). The big thing right now is to plan everything for our triumphant return. I've been charting out everything I want to do upon our arrival, and making plans for my apartment. It's time to finally settle into a place and not just live like some drifter. I will actually buy furniture and possibly a door mat with some facetious greeting on it. For that is the true mark of a happy home.

I have to sign off now because my coffee is getting cold, and my morning routine is calling.

P.S. I hate trackball mice and am about to launch this blasted thing across the radio shack.

"I Whupped Batman's Ass"

Apparently the caped crusader enjoys a drink in South Korea from time to time. That is all.

"Don't Panic. Don't Forget Your Towel."

I'm no longer a lowly pollywog. I am now a member of the Order of the Honorable Golden Dragons.

I really don't have much time to write anything right now, and not much to write about either. I mainly wanted to see how well Movable Type could handle posting pictures in an entry. That is all.

(thank you to psykotron for spotting my n00bish coding mistake)
